Adjust Laser Offsets

Topics:

The laser offset should be adjusted on an Industrial Series printer if you change out the print head. The process includes a test print, followed by an adjustment routine.

Make sure you have Onyx and any type of fiber loaded into your printer.

Run the Utility Test Print

Note: The print head will become hot during the printing process. Exercise caution when working near the nozzles.

  1. Apply glue to your print bed as shown in the picture below and install the print bed.

  2. Select the menu icon from the dashboard.

  3. Select the Utilities tile from the available options.

  4. Select the Print Head Alignment tile from the available options.

  5. Select the Laser-Guided Offsets tile.

  6. Select Print Test Part from the options on the screen.

  7. Allow the print to finish and, without removing the part, continue on to the adjustment routine.

Adjust the Laser Offset

Once your test print has finished, inspect it to ensure that the fiber is laid out cleanly and that it is firmly adhered to the part. If the fiber is not smooth and well-adhered, please try printing the test part again.

Note: If you just ran the print of the test part from the Adjust Laser Offset utility, the onscreen instructions should prompt you to continue directly into the adjustment routine. If that is the case, please skip the menu navigation steps in this section.

  1. Select the menu icon from the dashboard.

  2. Select the Utilities tile from the available options.

  3. Select the Print Head Alignment tile from the available options.
