Fiber Nozzle Replacement


Goals:

 

 

Removing the Fiber Nozzle

You will need the following tools to remove the fiber nozzle:

  • 10mm Nut Driver

To replace the fiber nozzle on your Mark Two printer:

  1. Select the Menu from the upper right corner of the printer's touch screen.



  2. Select the "Utilities" tile from the available options.



  3. Select the "Manual Control" tile from the available options. 



  4. Select the "Temperature Control" tile from the available options.



  5. Select the "Heat" option on the screen when prompted.



  6. Select the "Fiber Nozzle" option on the screen when prompted.



  7. Press the "Done" icon to exit from the manual heating utility.



  8. When the nozzle is heated, use the 10mm nut driver to loosen the fiber nozzle.
    Note: Do not remove the fiber nozzle at this point. Just ensure that it is able to turn somewhat freely. Do not touch the nozzle with your hands, as it will be very hot.



  9. Use the temperature control settings to cool the fiber nozzle.
  10. When the nozzle is at room temperature, remove it from the print head with your fingers or the nut driver.

Replacing the Fiber Nozzle

You will need the following tools to replace the fiber nozzle:

  • 10mm Nut Driver
  • Anti-Seize
  • Replacement Fiber Nozzle
  • Replacement PTFE Tube

To replace the fiber nozzle on your Mark Two printer:

  1. Insert the Teflon PTFE tube into the replacement nozzle.



  2. Apply a small amount of Anti-Seize to the end of the threads of the nozzle.



  3. Thread the new nozzle into the print head until it is finger tight.
  4. Unscrew the new nozzle and then thread it into the print head again. This helps to disperse the Anti-Seize over all of the the threads.
  5. Take the 10mm nut driver and tighten the nozzle.
    Note: You do not need to heat the print head up again to install the new fiber nozzle.
