Fiber Extruder Replacement

Removing the Fiber Extruder

To remove the fiber extruder from your Mark Two printer:

  1. Ensure materials are unloaded and turn off your printer.
  2. Use a 2mm Allen wrench to slightly unscrew the top left bolt on the fiber extruder.
    Note: Do not unscrew the bolt all the way. It should require not more than one full turn to loosen



  3. Remove the Fiber Bowden Tube from the extruder.
  4. Disconnect the 3-wire power connector from the PCB on the top of fiber extruder.
  5. Using the 2.5mm Allen wrench, loosen the four bolts which secure the fiber extruder to the printer chassis.
    Note: The bracket on the extruder has keyhole slots so the extruder can slide out without the bolts being removed.



  6. Disconnect the 3-wire power connector from the left side of the fiber extruder.
  7. Use a 2mm Allen wrench to slightly unscrew the top right bolt on the fiber extruder.
    Note: Do not unscrew the bolt all the way. It should require not more than one full turn to loosen
  8. Remove the Fiber Feed Tube from the extruder.
  9. Remove the fiber extruder.

Reinstalling the Fiber Extruder

To reinstall the fiber extruder to your Mark Two printer:

  1. Plug in the 3-wire and 4-wire power connectors into the correct ports and make sure they are plugged in all the way.
  2. Place and tighten the four bolts that connect the base of the extruder to the chassis.
  3. Insert and secure the Fiber Bowden Tube and Fiber Feed Tube.
  4. Reload fiber by using the "Load Fiber" routine on your printer.
