Builds and Printing Parts


Goals:

 

 

Create a Build

Once a part is configured and saved in Eiger, the part can be added to a build. Builds are used to generate the .MFP file that your printer is able to print. Builds can consist of one or multiple parts, as long as all parts have the same layer height.

To create a new build

  1. Import a new part or open a part from you Eiger Library.
  2. Configure the part as needed and press "Save".

To open an existing build

  1. Navigate to your Eiger Library.
  2. Select the "Builds" tab at the top of the Library page.
  3. Click on the build you want to open.

Edit a Build

There are several options that can be edited when working with a build.

To add parts to a build

  1. Create a new build or open one from your Eiger Library.
  2. Press the "Add Part" button in the "Printing Settings" menu on the right side of the screen.



  3. Select the part to add from the list that pops up.
    Note: Add multiple of the same part by selecting it repeatedly from the list of parts.

To organize parts in a build

  1. Create a new build or open one from your Eiger Library.
  2. Add the parts you want to print
  3. Click and drag parts to manually place them in a different place on the print bed.
  4. Select a part and change value in the "Rotation" field in the "Printing Settings" panel to change the angle of the part about the Z-axis.



  5. Click the "X" button to remove a part from a build.

Printing, Saving, and Exporting a Build

Once a build is properly configured, it can be directly printed to an online, available printer or added to the queue for an online, busy printer. It can also be saved or exported. Saved builds can be accessed and edited at a later time. Exported builds can be printed on a printer via USB.

To print directly to an online, available printer:

  1. Ensure your build is correctly configured for printing.
  2. Select the printer you want to print to from the "Select Printer" drop-down, listed under “Available”.



  3. Press the "Print" button.



To add a build to the queue of an online, busy printer:

  1. Ensure your build is correctly configured for printing.
  2. Select the printer you want to print to from the "Select Printer" drop-down, listed under "Busy".



  3. Press the "Print" button.



  4. Verify the print details and address any material warnings listed in the pop-up window.



  5. Select "Add to Queue" to add the print to the end of the print job queue for that printer, or select "Print Next" to add the print to the top of the print job queue for that printer.

To save a build for later use:

  1. Ensure that you have at least two parts added to your build.
    Note: If your build only has one part, you will not be able to save it.
  2. Configure the parts as needed.
  3. Press the "Save Build" button.



To export a build for USB printing:

  1. Ensure your build is correctly configured for printing.
  2. Select "Export Build/' from the "Select Printer" drop-down.



  3. Press the "Export Build" button.
    Note: The "Print" button will change to the “Export Build” button once "Export Build" is selected from the printer drop-down. Pressing this button will generate and automatically download the .MFP file for the build to your computer.
